The following are the other lakes I guide on, Lough Arrow, Lough Melvin, Glencar Lough, Lower Lough Erne, Lough Key, Lough Keenaghan and some "Guides Choices". Being located in the north west of Ireland we are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by, and guide on, some beautiful Trout and Salmon lakes. There are a variety of options available for visiting anglers and the chance to fish for Brown Trout, Seatrout and Salmon.

Occasionally we can venture to other waters and head to Lough Conn, Lough Cullen, Lough Maskor Lough Sheelin. These can offer great sport throughout the season, or at different times depending on conditions. I like to consider these when conditions might not be the best on my usual lakes, or just to give my guests a different experience. These guided trips are only available as Deluxe Guided trips and include an extra fee to help cover my travel expenses. If you are interested in exploring these options, just make note of it in the comments section when contacting me.

Lough Melvin

Lough Arrow

Lough Arrow is by far our most popular destination and a hidden gem when it comes to Wild Brown Trout fishing. It is one of the great Irish trout fishing loughs, where our target, Wild Brown Trout, weighs from 1.5lb to 6lb.

Lough Arrow is a short 20 minute drive from Sligo on the main Dublin road (the N4). This freshwater lake lies mostly in County Sligo with a smaller part in Roscommon. The lake covers an area of 12.47 square kilometres, and with it's beautiful islands and long rush seedbeds it gives long drifts which makes it a dream for dry fly or wetfly fishing for the visiting angler.

Lough Melvin

Lough Melvin

A 45 min drive from Sligo on the N15 road to Donegal, between Leitrim (Ireland) and Northern Ireland, will take you to the world famous Lough Melvin and it's famous Gillaroo and Sonaghan Trout that only habitats Lough Melvin. It also holds Brown Trout, Char Trout and Ferox and is the only lake in Ireland to do so. Lough Melvin also gets a run of Salmon from the famous Drowes river that runs out of the Lough and they are often caught on trout flies while chasing trout.

Glencar Lough

Glencar Lough

Glencar Lough, just south-east of Benbulben, is a smaller Lough than Lough Arrow or Lough Melvin measuring just 2 miles long by 1/2 mile wide, but it's one of my favorite places to fish and also offers a chance to catch Sea Trout and Salmon.

Lough Erne

Lower Lough Erne

Lower Lough Erne is situated in Co Fermanagh on the western edge of Northern Ireland some six miles from the Atlantic Ocean. It is more than 15 miles long and is one of the great Limestone Loughs of Ireland. Lower Lough Erne has numerous bays and rocky shores, and with it's long shallows and unique islands make it perfect fishing grounds for Brown Trout, and holds some large Brown Trout.

Lough Key

Lough Key

Lough Key in county Roscommon, is a rather triangular shape and composed of about thirty islets, all mainly wooded including Castle Island which houses a medieval castle, Stag Island, Bullock Island and Drummond Island. It is reknown for it's early hatches of Mayfly which usually occurs the first few days of May. Hatches can be quite good and Spent fishing often produces fish in the 8lb range.

Lough Keenaghan

Lough Keenaghan

Lough Keenaghan is 1.5 miles from Belleek on the main Kesh to Belleek road (A47) in County Fermanagh. The lake offers excellent Brown Trout angling and is regularly stocked with takeable size Brown Trout. This is a highly productive shallow Lough popular with Olives, Midges, Buzzers and Caddis; and offers excellent Dry fly fishing and is a great place for the complete beginner to learn the art of Fly fishing.
